We are currently seeking a customer-oriented and dedicated Estimator to join our client operating on UK wide contracts. As an Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial function of the company, helping us to secure new business and maintain strong client relationships. If you have experience in Highways / Civils or other areas of construction where your estimating skills cover complete structures, we’d love to hear from you.

Salary: £40,000+ & Car Allowance / Company Vehicle
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Main Responsibilities:
- Estimating bridge joints, waterproofing, and bridge bearings.
- Reviewing civil engineering design drawings
- Conducting material take-offs and preparing tender summaries
- Obtaining supplier quotations and negotiating costs
- Preparing detailed quotations to meet project deadlines
- Liaising with clients to discuss tender submissions
- Quantifying material take-offs and producing cost analyses for clients and management
- Providing monthly job costing forecasts and analysis
- Attending client meetings and conducting occasional site visits
- Assisting with monthly applications and final accounts
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth project execution
The Ideal Candidate:
- Knowledge of architectural metalwork, secondary steel work, and structural steel (Desirable)
- Knowledge of the highway / construction sector (Desirable)
- Previous experience in a similar estimating role (Essential)
- Strong communication skills with a professional telephone manner
- Ability to resolve queries with a logical, solution-focused approach
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- A team player who is eager to share ideas and techniques for continuous improvement
