Key Responsibilities:
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of operational contracts, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably. Your key duties will include:
- Leading and supporting regional teams to achieve operational, financial, and performance targets.
- Developing and implementing robust strategies to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Managing and nurturing client relationships to ensure satisfaction, retention, and contract growth.
- Monitoring contract performance, budgets, and KPIs to ensure delivery exceeds expectations.
- Driving continuous improvement across safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Promoting best practice and ensuring full compliance with QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental) standards.
- Supporting mobilisation of new contracts and managing operational transitions effectively.
- Acting as the On Call Manager to provide out-of-hours management support when required.
- Fostering teamwork, innovation, and employee development across all operational levels.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in an Operations Management role within Utilities, Rail, or Infrastructure service delivery.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing multi-million-pound budgets.
- Demonstrable success in people leadership, contract delivery, and customer relationship management.
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and quality management systems.
- Experience supporting client re-negotiations, contract mobilisation, and strategic business planning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience in a regulated service environment.
- Formal qualification in Surveying/ Civil Engineering Management, or a related discipline.
- Exposure to frameworks and long-term service contracts.
