THE ROLE
LEGGWORK are recruiting a Working Foreman for a long-term heritage construction project based in Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced foreman who is confident managing day-to-day site operations while remaining hands-on when required.
The majority of the works will be carried out by subcontractors, so you’ll play a key role in coordinating trades, maintaining strong relationships with clients, architects, and the project team, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. A carpentry background would be highly advantageous, along with previous experience working on heritage or restoration projects.
Working Hours: Standard site hours (to be confirmed)
Overtime: Opportunities for overtime, including Saturdays, may become available as the project progresses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES You’ll be expected to:
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the site.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure works are completed on programme.
- Maintain excellent communication with the client, architects, and project management team.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and to a high standard of quality.
- Assist with hands-on site work when required.
- Identify and report additional works or variations where applicable.
- Monitor progress and help resolve any on-site issues efficiently.
- Maintain site records and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
REQUIREMENTS To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Valid SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
- Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
- Previous experience as a Working Foreman or Site Supervisor.
- A carpentry background is highly desirable.
- Experience working on heritage or restoration projects is advantageous.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with subcontractors, clients, and design teams.
- A proactive, reliable, and hands-on approach.
- Valid CSCS card.
