A well-established specialist subcontractor is growing. With a strong run of secured work and a self-delivery model keeping the pipeline full; they are expanding the commercial team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor.

This is a role for a QS with around 5+ years’ experience who can hit the ground running. What matters most is commercial ability and a genuine understanding of the subcontractor position. We are seeking someone who knows how to manage relationships with Tier One Contractor and Developer clients professionally, protecting the commercial position while building the kind of relationships that lead to repeat work. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Managing the commercials across multiple subcontract packages at once
• Balancing client/main-contractor relationships alongside the commercial performance of projects
• Cost control, valuations, variations and final accounts
• Staying on top of contract terms, entitlement and commercial risk across concurrent projects
• Working closely with estimating and delivery teams on live work
• Building and managing strong supply-chain relationships

REQUIREMENTS:

• A Quantity Surveyor with c. 5+ years’ experience, ideally with a specialist subcontractor
• Someone comfortable in a busy commercial team with excellent organisation skills
• A proven track record owning packages end to end, from procurement through to final account
• Commercially sharp and highly organised, with a firm grip on contractual detail
• Fully conversant with JCT contract forms
