THE ROLE
Join a leading property services and maintenance contractor: independently owned, growing, and built on a specialist, highly skilled and loyal team.
With the full support of an experienced Commercial Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in the pricing and commercial administration of projects, from minor works quotations through to tenders worth up to £2 million. It’s a role where your numbers win the work and your judgement protects the margin, in a business where your contribution is seen and valued.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be expected to:
- Produce detailed, well-written minor works quotations based on client specifications
- Price and submit tenders from drawings and bills of quantities up to £2 million
- Compile competitive but profitable costs covering all labour, materials and plant
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best price and service
- Manage multiple estimates and proposals at once, making sure every one reaches the client on deadline
- Support existing contracts and help identify new clients and opportunities
REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least two years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator, or in a similar role
- Confident communication skills and the ability to adapt to clients’ requirements
- Strong IT skills in Word, Excel and Outlook, with the ability to produce professional quotations
- Good organisation and time management, able to handle a busy workload and tight deadlines
- A consistent, thorough approach to costing, and an eye for cost savings
- The ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
