Job Title: Senior Topographical Surveyor
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Salary Package: £40,000 – £45,000 (DOE) + Van + Equipment

Overview:

Leggwork is supporting a leading surveying specialist delivering on a major long-term infrastructure project in Somerset.

Due to continued project growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Topographical Surveyor to play a key role in the delivery of high-precision survey data across a complex live site environment.

This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong surveyor who enjoys working on large-scale infrastructure schemes, takes ownership of data quality, and is looking for genuine long-term progression within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-accuracy topographical surveys across a major infrastructure project
• Operate Leica TS16 Total Stations to capture precise survey data
• Process and adjust survey control networks using StarNET
• Process and quality-check laser scanning datasets
• Ensure all survey deliverables meet project specifications and quality standards
• Work closely with engineers, project managers and site teams to support delivery
• Maintain survey equipment and uphold best practice survey methodologies
• Support junior surveyors and contribute to technical standards across the team

Requirements:

• Proven experience delivering Topographical Surveys on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong working knowledge of Leica TS16 Total Stations
• Experience using StarNET for network adjustment and data processing
• Knowledge of laser scan processing and survey control principles
• Strong understanding of survey quality assurance procedures
• Ability to work independently on complex project environments
• Valid CSCS Card
• Eligible for Security Clearance (SC)

Desirable:

• Experience working on major infrastructure, highways, rail or utilities projects
• Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior surveyors
• Additional surveying qualifications (QCF, ProQual, HND)
