We’re currently recruiting for an experienced 360 Excavator Operative to join a civils project in Swindon. The initial project is expected to run for approximately 6 weeks, with the potential for the successful candidate to move onto a longer-term project in Reading afterwards.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced 360 Excavator Operative with a strong background in civils and groundworks. You’ll be responsible for operating a 360 excavator safely and efficiently, supporting the wider site team and carrying out excavation and installation works to a high standard.

The successful candidate will have proven experience excavating trenches, working around underground services, installing pipes and carrying out street works. CAT and Genny experience is essential, along with a valid 360 excavator ticket for machines under 10 tonnes.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced operative who can work safely, accurately and as part of a busy civils team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating a 360 excavator under 10 tonnes safely and efficiently
• Excavating trenches to the required depth and specification
• Working safely around underground services using CAT and Genny equipment
• Assisting with the installation of pipes and associated civils works
• Carrying out street works and supporting general groundworks activities
• Working closely with groundworkers, site supervisors and other members of the site team
• Following site plans, RAMS and instructions from site management
• Maintaining a high standard of health, safety and workmanship throughout the project
• Carrying out daily checks and ensuring machinery is operated and maintained correctly

Where You’ll Be Based

The initial project is based in Swindon and is expected to run for approximately 6 weeks.
Following successful completion of the Swindon project, there is potential for the successful candidate to move onto a long-term civils project in Reading, providing an opportunity for continued work.

• Valid 360 excavator ticket for machines under 10 tonnes
• Proven experience operating a 360 excavator on civils/groundworks projects
• Experience excavating trenches
• CAT and Genny experience
• Experience with pipe installation
• Street works experience
• Good understanding of site health and safety requirements
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider site team

About You

You’re an experienced and reliable 360 Excavator Operative who takes pride in your work. You understand the importance of working safely around underground services and can confidently carry out trenching, pipe installation and street works.

You’ll be comfortable working independently when required while also being a strong team player. Most importantly, you’re looking for a reliable contract with the potential for longer-term work.
