Company Overview:
We are working with a well-established surveying and geospatial services provider in the UK, delivering a range of services including underground utility surveys, topographical surveys, LiDAR scanning, BIM modelling and geophysical techniques such as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). Their work supports major infrastructure, construction and engineering projects nationwide.
They are currently seeking a Technical Bid Coordinator to join their growing team based in West Sussex. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented, technically minded individual to support the sales function, assist with proposal development and ensure seamless client engagement from initial enquiry through to project handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse client requests for proposals and project enquiries to understand scope and requirements.
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for services including:
- Underground Utility Surveys (PAS 128)
- Topographical Surveys
- LiDAR Scanning & BIM Modelling
- Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and other geophysical techniques
- Write clear and professional proposals, quotes and tender responses.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposed methodologies are feasible and accurately scoped.
- Act as a key point of contact for client enquiries, providing technical advice on the most suitable survey techniques for their projects.
- Clearly explain the benefits, limitations, and deliverables of services (e.g., AutoCAD drawings, BIM models, point clouds).
- Support the Client Engagement Manager in follow-up communications and converting quotes into successful projects.
- Coordinate with the operations team to hand over awarded projects efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role such as bid writing, estimation, technical sales support, or surveying experience within construction, civil engineering or geospatial sectors.
- Able to translate technical drawings clearly.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); experience with CRM systems is advantageous.
Desired Qualifications:
- Direct experience estimating or quoting for surveying or geospatial projects.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as PAS 128 for utility mapping.
