Job Title: Freelance Quantity Surveyor – Highways (NEC Contract)

Location: Flexible in the South West/ South East 

Start Date: ASAP
 
Duration:  Approximately 5-6 months 

Day Rate: £450 – £500 per day 

Project Overview: Leggwork are seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support various projects on a Highways framework. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NEC contracts (specifically Option C and E). 

This role requires someone with excellent communication skills, capable of collecting evidence data for applications, tracking defined costs and setting target sums.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and compiling data for accurate reporting and client submission 
• Monitor project costs, capture changes or additional works 
• Assist in setting and managing target costs, including monitoring performance against agreed target sums.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and client-side teams to manage budgets and control costs.
• Track and report on defined costs, ensuring compliance with NEC contract requirements.
• Support procurement and supply chain activities, ensuring effective subcontractor engagement and performance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on Highways projects or NEC Contracts (Option C & E)
• Strong knowledge and hands on experience with NEC contracts (essential Option C and E).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
• Available to start immediately or at short notice.

Working Pattern: Predominantly remote, with office attendance once every two weeks
