Overview:
Leggwork is working with a respected civil engineering and water infrastructure contractor delivering both reactive and planned works across drainage, water systems, and associated infrastructure across the South West.
This role combines office-based coordination with site involvement, covering reactive works management, estimating, and delivery oversight across multiple live projects. It suits someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can take full ownership of operational delivery from enquiry through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage reactive works across water, drainage, and civils systems
- Coordinate labour, plant, and transport for efficient delivery
- Prepare estimates for repairs, maintenance, and installation works
- Handle enquiries and schedule site visits and engineer workloads
- Oversee small works projects including client liaison and delivery
- Supervise teams and ensure compliance with company standards
- Maintain H&S compliance (HSE & CDM regulations)
- Manage plant, vehicles, and equipment with accurate record keeping
- Support operations and contracts teams with planning and tendering
- Attend meetings and contribute to continuous operational improvement
Requirements:
- Previous supervisory experience in water, civils, or infrastructure
- Strong coordination, planning, and organisational ability
- Experience managing teams and workloads under pressure
- Commercial awareness with ability to work within budgets
- Strong understanding of HSE Act and CDM Regulations
- Confident communication and stakeholder management skills
- IT literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Full UK driving licence
- Hands-on, proactive, and flexible approach
Desirable:
- Water infrastructure or civil engineering background
- Experience in estimating or project coordination
- Desire to progress within a growing operational team
