About Leggwork
At LEGGWORK, we specialise in connecting skilled professionals with top-tier construction and civil engineering projects across the South West and UK. We pride ourselves on offering competitive pay rates, reliable job opportunities, and excellent candidate support. With years of industry experience, our mission is to ensure every candidate finds a role that matches their skills and ambitions.
We’re currently building a pipeline of experienced Site Managers and Civil Foremen for upcoming clean water mains renovation and pipeline schemes, with hiring anticipated from October 2026.
About the Role
We’re looking for experienced, practical Supervisors and Site Managers to join upcoming clean water mains renovation schemes.
You’ll be based on site as part of the delivery team, working closely with the Construction Manager, Assistant Construction Managers and Site Coordinators.
You’ll take responsibility for managing day-to-day site activities, coordinating stakeholders, maintaining site documentation and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
We are also keen to hear from experienced Civil Foremen with strong backgrounds in groundworks, pipeline installation and water infrastructure who may be suitable for upcoming schemes.
The ideal candidate will have genuine practical civil and construction experience rather than a predominantly administrative site management background.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing and coordinating day-to-day site activities across civil, groundworks and pipeline works.
- Working closely with the Construction Manager, Assistant Construction Managers and Site Coordinators.
- Coordinating subcontractors, operatives, suppliers and multiple project stakeholders.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
- Monitoring progress and supporting the wider delivery team to keep works on programme.
- Completing and maintaining site documentation, digital check-in sheets and general project paperwork.
- Ensuring relevant site processes, procedures and records are maintained.
- Identifying and resolving issues on site to keep works moving
- Maintaining clear communication with project teams, clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Applying practical knowledge of civil engineering, groundworks and pipeline activities throughout the construction phase.
Where You’ll Be Based
The exact site location and working pattern are TBC and will depend on the individual clean water mains renovation schemes.
The roles will be site-based, with assignments determined by the location and requirements of each scheme.
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
- Previous experience in a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or Civil Foreman position
- SMSTS
- Strong practical knowledge of civil engineering, groundworks or pipeline works
- Experience managing site activities and associated documentation
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders
- Ability to work as part of a wider construction delivery team
Desirable:
- Previous experience in the water industry
- Clean water mains renovation experience
- Pipeline installation experience
- Groundworks and civil engineering experience
- EUSR Water Hygiene
- Relevant EUSR Green Card / water-sector requirements
- Experience working on water infrastructure or mains renewal schemes
Specific EUSR and water hygiene requirements will be confirmed against the individual scheme.
About You
You’re a practical, delivery-focused Site Manager or Civil Foreman who understands how construction actually works on the ground.
You have the confidence to coordinate teams and stakeholders, manage site activities and deal with issues as they arise. You’re comfortable with the necessary paperwork and digital site systems, but your strength is your hands-on understanding of civil, groundworks and pipeline operations.
Experience progressing from the tools into a foreman or site management role would be highly valued. We’re particularly interested in candidates who have worked on deep drainage, large-diameter pipe installation, civil infrastructure or similar projects.
What’s on Offer
- Upcoming opportunities on clean water mains renovation schemes
- Potential for long-term / ongoing work, subject to scheme availability and performance
- Opportunities for both Site Managers and Civil Foremen
- The chance to work as part of an experienced construction delivery team
- Scheme-dependent assignments with the potential to remain in work for as long as projects are available
- Dedicated support from your Leggwork consultant
- Hiring anticipated from October 2026
If you’re an experienced Site Manager or Civil Foreman with a strong practical background in civil engineering, groundworks, pipelines or clean water infrastructure, we’d be keen to hear from you.
