Overview:
Leggwork is working with a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Regional Civil Engineering team in Somerset.
The role will involve delivering highways and infrastructure projects through long-term Somerset Council frameworks, including road construction, drainage, junction improvements and traffic infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of highways and civil engineering projects from start to completion.
- Take responsibility for programme, commercial performance, resources, quality and H&S.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Maintain strong relationships with Somerset Council and other key stakeholders.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, P&L, programmes, risks and opportunities.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the required standards.
- Identify and resolve project issues while driving continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements:
- 5+ years’ Project Management experience within highways, civil engineering or infrastructure.
- Strong experience delivering highways, roads or associated infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of NEC contracts, ideally NEC3/NEC4.
- Strong commercial and programme management skills.
- SMSTS and valid CSCS card.
- Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong understanding of HSEQ requirements.
Desirable:
- Experience with drainage and associated civil engineering works.
- Main contractor / Tier 1 experience.
- Local authority or highways framework experience.
- Lean / Six Sigma knowledge.
