Leggwork is recruiting on behalf of a growing environmental and civil engineering contractor delivering projects across infrastructure, drainage, groundworks, ecological mitigation and environmental improvement schemes.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Small Schemes Project Manager to oversee multiple projects valued between £10k – £1m, taking full responsibility for safe, profitable and high-quality delivery from pre-construction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple environmental and civil engineering projects from inception through to completion
- Develop and maintain project programmes, schedules and resource plans
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant, materials and suppliers
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to specification
- Produce and manage project documentation including RAMS, QA records, progress reports and handover documentation
- Monitor project performance, identify risks and implement mitigation measures
- Maintain regular communication with clients, stakeholders and internal teams
- Support procurement, logistics and commercial activities across multiple schemes
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, environmental and contractual requirements
- Manage project quality, client sign-off and successful project close-out across multiple live sites
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Environmental or Construction sectors
- Strong programme management, planning and organisational skills
- Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and project performance
- Experience leading operational teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and quality assurance processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Experience in drainage, groundworks, utilities or environmental works
- SMSTS
- CSCS Card
- Temporary Works qualification
- Experience producing RAMS, QA documentation and O&M manuals
- NEC contract knowledge
- Site Engineering or Commercial background
