Quantity Surveyor (South-West)

Location: South West England (Somerset / Wiltshire / Gloucestershire)
Working Pattern: Hybrid | Travel to Sheffield HQ once a month
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 DOE + £500 monthly car allowance, fuel paid + full benefits package

Leggwork is supporting a specialist infrastructure and technology contractor delivering critical communications and integrated systems across the UK strategic road network.

This opportunity sits within a well-established commercial function working on a long-term National Highways SDF framework. The organisation partners directly with leading Tier 1 contractors including Colas, Amey, Ringway and Costain, supporting complex infrastructure programmes under NEC contracts.
This position would suit a commercially driven professional with strong NEC Option C & E knowledge, capable of managing financial performance across live highway frameworks while contributing to a collaborative and growing commercial team.
Key Duties

• Prepare and substantiate Applications for Payment under NEC contracts
• Produce Cost Value Reconciliations and internal financial reporting
• Manage forecasting and external commercial reporting across active schemes
• Review, challenge and justify disallowed expenditure
• Support target cost management alongside operational teams
• Deliver detailed cost analysis to aid commercial strategy
• Administer subcontractor accounts including valuations, variations and payments
• Maintain commercial governance across National Highways frameworks
• Provide support across multiple concurrent infrastructure projects

Candidate Requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years’ UK contractor-side experience
• Strong NEC Option C & E knowledge is essential
• Proven background within highways or civil engineering environments
• Experience working alongside Tier 1 or Principal Contractors preferred
• Excellent financial awareness covering reporting, forecasting and cost management
• Full UK driving licence required
• Ability to travel across the South West and attend Sheffield HQ monthly
