Leggwork is recruiting for a Utility Surveyor to join a growing specialist geospatial and engineering company delivering PAS128 utility surveys, underground utility mapping, topographical surveys and infrastructure projects across the North East and North Yorkshire.
This role is ideal for a Utility Surveyor, Underground Utility Surveyor, Geospatial Surveyor or Survey Technician with experience using GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), EML, Cat & Genny and utility mapping equipment.
You’ll work on a range of high-profile projects including water infrastructure frameworks, highways, drainage schemes, and major civil engineering developments, with excellent opportunities for training, career progression and technical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out PAS128-compliant utility surveys
- Locate and map underground utilities using GPR and EML equipment
- Produce accurate utility survey data and asset records
- Assist with topographical surveys, laser scanning and monitoring surveys
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure data quality
- Work safely and efficiently across infrastructure and construction sites
- Collaborate with survey and engineering teams to deliver projects on time
Essential Requirements
- Experience as a Utility Surveyor or Underground Utility Surveyor
- Experience using GPR, EML, Cat & Genny or utility detection equipment
- Knowledge of PAS128 standards
- Full UK Driving Licence
- CSCS Card
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable Experience
- QCF Level 3 or Level 5 in Utility Mapping or Surveying
- Topographical surveying experience
- AutoCAD, Leica, Trimble or other geospatial software and equipment
- Experience working on water, highways, rail or infrastructure projects
This role covers projects across Hull, Middlesbrough, Scarborough, Teesside, York and the wider North East, with a mix of site-based surveying and technical survey work.
